The task brief is leant against a bowl full of water on top of a plinth in the lab. The brief for the task is as follows:
Get this balloon through the hole and into the jar.
You may not touch the balloon in any way, other than popping it with the pin.
You may not touch the string or the tissues in any way, other than cutting the tissues with the scissors.
You may not touch the hole wall in any way.

Task notes
- Also on the plinth, there are a pair of scissors and a rod with a safety pin attached to one end of it.
- On the floor next to the plinth, there is a helium balloon tied to a wad of tissues such that it rests on a circular red Taskmaster-branded marker spot.
- On the other side of the lab, there is a glass jar on a lower plinth.
- Between the two plinths, in the centre of the room, there is a thin red partition with an oval hole cut into between waist and head height.
