Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Dave brings in “Ewan the dream sheep”, which he says replicates the white noise a baby hears in the womb, and sooths new-borns to sleep. He says he was touring his show and had found that he missed his baby, and so he’d bought another Ewan to remind him of his child while he was away. Dave earns last place.
  • Rob brings in a light for the inside of the toilet bowl, so that one doesn’t have to turn on any lights when visiting the bathroom in the middle of the night. Greg awards Rob first place, because he is a middle-aged man with a swollen prostate, and can therefore relate to the experience of having to get up in the middle of the night to pee.
  • Al brings in a Wall-E toy, based on the character from the movie of the same name. When Greg asks what it does, Al does an impression of the sounds it makes, and says it moves around. Greg agrees that it is quite cute for a robot, but questions whether it could help him do an accurate piss in the middle of the night, for example. Al earns fourth place.
  • Sara brings in a genuinely expensive item: her iPod. She does note, however, that she will need it back, as it’s the only way she can check her emails. Sara earns third place.
  • Paul brings in a light-up hairband with colourful attached fake dreadlocks. He claims that it can be used to become a Rastafarian, without actually becoming a Rastafarian. Paul earns second place.
