Convince the Taskmaster that you deserve 5 points

  • In this live studio task, the contestants must take it in turns to convince the Taskmaster to award them the 5 points.
  • In each round, they must select a paddle from a board which instructs them on how they must make their appeal for the points.
  • The Taskmaster eliminates the least convincing contestant in each round, until only one remains standing.

Original version

In this version of the task, the contestants only have 10 seconds to make their appeals in each round.

Adaptations

In this version of the task, the contestants appear to have much longer than 10 seconds in each round to make their appeals.
In this version of the task, there is only a single round of play, in which each contestant makes just one appeal using their chosen tactic, but they each have 20 seconds to convince Jaakko.
In this version of the task, the instructions on how each appeal for points must be made are written on rectangular pieces of posterboard, rather than auction paddles. Also, the contestants are instructed to select all four of their appeal techniques at the start of the task, before they even learn how they are going to be used, which causes a mad scramble around the board. Once they’ve selected their appeal techniques, the contestants can use them in any order they wish.
