Attempts
Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!
- Janne attaches one end of the thread to the fence in the front yard, and the other end to a car, which he slowly drives down the driveway. On his first attempt, the thread snaps, so Janne hands the end of the thread to Pilvi and drives off again, unravelling 280 metres of thread.
- Jenni unrolls the thread on the stairs, but it quickly becomes tangled, slowing her attempt down. She then abandons this method and starts instead unrolling the thread from a second story window. Jenni unrolls 160 metres of thread from her spool.
- Jukka cuts the thread off of the spool with a knife. There is no thread remaining on the spool at the end of the task, which means he removed 5,000 metres in total.
- Miita unrolls the thread while inside the lab. She does not think to leave the room or try any other strategies to complete the task. Miita unrolls 185 metres of thread from her spool.
- Roni attaches one end of the thread to the flag pole in the front yard and then holds the spool in his hand and runs away from the pole. He unwinds 177 metres of thread from the spool.
