The task brief was emailed to the contestants on the 4th of February 2010. The brief for the task is as follows:

Please broadcast the following sentence to as many people as possible:

'Alex Horne is a magnificent man.'

Send me your evidence. The more people exposed to my magnificence the more points you receive.

Task notes

Mark Watson tweeted the sentence to his then impressive 18,000 Twitter followers.
James Dowdeswell broadcast the message to over a million listeners via BRMB Birmingham radio, while Mark Olver also broadcast the message on the radio in Bristol, and Josie Long did so on BBC Radio 6 Music.
Henning Wehn took out an advert on the Chortle.co.uk website to share the message 'at great expense'.
Someone managed to hack into Alex's email account and add the sentence to his email signature.
The task was won by Stuart Goldsmith, who persuaded the hosts of the TV show Loose Women to say the sentence live on air on the 2nd of March 2010, resulting in Stuart being told off by the show's producer.
