Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Angella gets Paul to help sort the letter keys into alphabetical order for her, and then manages to put the majority of them back in their correct locations. After receiving the second task brief, she manages to type a very clear message, even spotting and fixing a typo, and then adding several messages to Paul at the end, to ask him to confirm whether he can read it. Her entire message is “dearest task master ithink you are great [text not shown] verybest in life thank you forb ein g my friend youre a kind person and I value your insight and frien dship fuck ihope this actuallyis typing a proper message otherwise im screwed paul if you can r ead this blink twice say hello if you casn read this thank you blink teiceif you c can read thyis”. She earns first place.
  • Guy struggles to get the keys back into their correct locations, only managing to get a few letters and all of the number keys back on. After receiving the second task brief, he uses the end of the arm of his spectacles to try to type out a message. He tries to type “Hello Jeremy” but ends up with “HUKKO JJUIUMT”. He then decides to delete it all and type a new message using just numbers, which he claims means “I love you”: “143 696969”. He earns zero points.
  • Leigh struggles to put the keys back in the correct places, and panics at the end, piling the remaining keys on the top of the keyboard. He doesn't manage to return any letter keys to the correct locations, so his typed message, after receiving the second task brief, makes no sense. What he’s trying to type is “Hello Taskmaster. I love you. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX”, but what he ends up with is “u5q5 ( u895 854” ‘’’’’’’’’’’’’’’”. He earns zero points.
  • Madeleine struggles to get the keys back into the correct locations, panics at the end, and piles the remaining keys on top of the keyboard. After receiving the second task brief, she ends up using the tail end of a toy dinosaur to type the message “i l;ke mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ass ass”. As it contained one actual word, she earns fourth place.
  • Brynley struggles to get many keys back onto the keyboard, only succeeding in replacing a few letters keys. After receiving the second task brief, she finds something metallic and pointed to help her use the missing keys, and attempts to type a long message, but none of it consists of real words. She tries to type “You are a 10 and I think you rule. You are very good at your job. xOxO Bryn”. What she ends up with is “`ri asq a 10 amg o qgoml rpi silw ri asq vqsr gof ay rs c amf rpi qweew gf m qamh ,wgia imbh xOxO csr”, which she is asked to read out live in the studio. She earns zero points.
