Task brief

The task brief was emailed to the contestants on the 1st of March 2010. The brief for the task is as follows:

The Drinking Race.

Yes, it's the inevitable competition to see who can down a pint the quickest.

The deal is this: film yourself drinking a pint (of any liquid you like) as quickly as possible then send me the clip (it can be on a mobile phone, home-video-camera, cinefilm, whatever you can lay your hands on).

I'll then stick them all together somehow, so we can have a big drinking race and see who gets this month's points. Good good.

One other thing - the first five people to send me their entries will be rewarded with one of the signed celebrity photos I have in my collection (these are genuine autographed snaps, signed by the actual people, and include the likes of Frank Bruno (the boxer) and Tony Benn (not the boxer - that's Nigel)).

Task notes

Lloyd Langford claimed that he'd deleted the email, so wasn't entirely sure what the task was (but thought it was something to do with downing a pint). However, after being told by both Dan Atkinson and Steve Hall that the challenge was to smash a pint glass over your own head, this is what he did instead.
Joe Wilkinson chose to down a pint of rainwater, and Mike Wozniak - the milk-guzzler that he is, managed to down a pint of milk in 9.4 seconds.
Among the first five contestants to submit their videos and win one of Alex's autographed photos were Joe Wilkinson, Al Pitcher, Steve Hall, and James Dowdeswell.
