Task brief

The task brief is laid on the desk in the study. When opened, the contestants find a brightly-coloured piece of card within, with the actual task brief written upon it. The brief for the task is as follows:

Hide the most unexpected costume under your clothes for the studio recording of episode 3.

If you costume is discovered before this task, you are disqualified.

Most unexpected costume hidden under your clothes wins.

You have until the studio recordings.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

  • Before the reveal of the contestants' costumes, in the studio, Lasse brings out a piece of paper on which he has written the three most obvious choices that he thinks the contestants might have made: a superhero; a nude suit; and dressing as either Lasse himself, or Mark.

Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Julie removes her stage outfit to reveal that she is wearing a T-shirt and flannel pyjama bottoms beneath. She then jumps into Martin's arms and waves a small Danish flag, this recreating a photo taken of Mark on his 31st birthday, being held by a woman (presumably his partner) in a kitchen. For dressing up as Mark, but not using the clothes he is most known for wearing on TV, she earns third place.
  • Simon asks Lasse to remove his glasses and close his eyes while he transforms, with the assistance of two helpers, into a glamorous drag queen. She introduces herself as 'Marianne Soltyr', thus coining the title of the episode. For genuinely committing to the task and coming up with the most unexpected costume, Simon earns first place.
  • Eva pulls the front of her T-shirt up over her head to reveal that Lasse's face is printed on the inside, and that she is wearing another T-shirt beneath with the ripped torso of a male stripper in a police costume printed on it. Lasse comments that the body she has depicted in no way resembles his own. For dressing up in one of the costumes Lasse had predicted before the reveal, but giving it some kind of imaginative twist, she earns fourth place.
  • Sebastian removes his stage outfit to reveal that he is wearing a suit beneath it. He then puts on a mask of Lasse's face, to complete his costume. For dressing up in one of the costumes Lasse had predicted before the reveal, without any sort of imaginative twist, he earns last place.
  • Martin claims he is trying to bring in the international fans of the show, and addresses them to camera, in English, before asking Lasse to re-read the task brief, also in English. He then pulls out from beneath his shirt a copy of a magazine titled Costume, which features him with a distended belly, looking pregnant, on the front cover. For his lateral approach to the task, he earns second place.
