The task brief is found in the mailbox outside the caravan, along with a slice of white bread smeared with ketchup, a set of barbecue tongs, and a pair of oven gloves. The brief for the task is as follows:
Save the snag from the barbie.
Least burnt snag wins.
Your time starts now.
Task notes
- The contestants are wearing GoPro cameras strapped to their chests, to provide PoV footage.
- The word 'snag' is Australian slang for 'sausage'.
- There are multiple decoy barbecue grills, dotted around the Taskmaster property (e.g. in the bathtub, on the balcony, on the dock, in the back of the ute), which contain non-sausage food items, including a pumpkin, corn on the cob, chicken nuggets, and a loaf of bread.
- During each contestants' attempt, when they discover the decoy barbecues, Tom Cashman takes the opportunity to say something along the lines of "it looks like you've hit a snag".
- The actual 'snag' they are looking for turns out to be in the lab, impaled on a fork held by a Barbie doll sat on a pile of bread slices, and suspended directly over the flame of a portable camping gas burner.
