Attempts
Here's a brief description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on writing up some additional detail, though!
- Iain realised that he had both touched the sand and moved the bucket, so decided to also leave the room, and break all of the rules. He was disqualified from the task.
- Joe initially tried to release the sand in a controlled manner to fill eggcups, but then completely removed the string blocking the hole, and had to frantically pour eggcups full of sand (for some reason wedged into a toilet roll) into the bucket. He managed to divert 56% of the sand.
- Lou decided to use the colander to divert the sand, blocking the holes on the bottom so the sand could not fall out. She managed to divert 68% of the sand.
- Paul decided to use the colander to divert the sand between the buckets, having failed to think of anything else. He managed to divert 23% of the sand.
- Sian removed the string covering the hole in the bucket because of her height, causing her to panic and scoop the sand on the floor into the bucket with eggcups. She managed to divert 54% of the sand.
