The brief for the task is as follows:
Correctly identify which bin Alex is in.
You must adhere to the commandments behind the curtain.
You may only have one guess.
No bins are to be opened at any point during the task unless authorised.
Fastest correct guess wins.
Your time starts now and stops when you have your guess.
The Seven Commandments:
I - You may wheel one bin three metres.
II - You may gently shake one bin.
III - You may strike one bin with a frying pan.
IV - You may push one bin over.
V - You may listen to one bin with a stethoscope.
VI - You may avert your eyes and drop one thing into one bin.
VII - You may phone Alex's phone from the phone in the phone box.

Here's a brief description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on writing up some additional detail, though!
- David managed to find the clue revealing Alex was in an odd-numbered bin, after which he dropped a leaf blower into bin 5. After guessing bin 5, he then struck Alex in the head with a frying pan through the bin lid. He found Alex in 6 minutes and 53 seconds
- Ed brutally attacked all the bins he thought Alex was in, before ringing Alex and running to bin 5 to hear Alex answer the phone. He correctly worked out Alex was in bin 5 in 3 minutes and 40 seconds.
- Jo did not use all of the commandments, guessing Alex was in bin number 1. As it contained water, she received no points.
- Katy looked at the bins and guessed number 3, as it was closest to the ground. As it contained pots and pans, she received no points.
- Rose uncovered but missed the clue about the bin number. She narrowed her options down to bins 1 and 5. After dropping the stethoscope into bin 5, she ended up guessing Alex was in bin number 1. As it contained water, she received no points.
