The brief for the task is as follows:
Build the cups into a tower while the music plays.
When the music stops, you must say the thing the Taskmaster wishes for.
If you don’t manage to say the desired thing within three seconds, you must remove five cups from your tower.
The tallest tower wins.
The task starts at the Taskmaster’s signal.
Task notes
- The contestants are lined up side-by-side on stage, each standing behind a low table.
- Beneath each table, there are some stacks of paper cups.
- It’s unclear from the task brief, but once the music stops playing, the contestants must stop building their towers, and then take turns listing things which belong in a category chosen by Jaakko, until someone hesitates for too long, repeats an item already mentioned, or says something which does not belong to the category.
- The categories used by Jaakko include: “An animal that has fur”, “A fish that is not a pike”, “A sport where you throw something but do not catch it”, “A clothing item which is not worn on the feet”, and “Food which is usually eaten with a spoon”.
