Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Anders starts by opening the large cardboard box. When he drops the box and it is in danger of falling off of the table, Anders reflexively catches the box before immediately recognizing his error in not keeping his hands together, and tells the camera operators to cut that footage out of the broadcast. When he gets to the wrapped baked beans in the box, he either does not see the ring or decides that he does not want to dig through the baked beans, and declares that the box does not contain a ring. Anders uses his teeth to open the jar containing a ring, but when trying to place it on the drumstick, the ring falls out of the jar and rolls onto the ground. Anders uses his teeth to move the drumstick down to ground level, and manages to slide the fallen ring onto it. In all, Anders locates and places one of the five rings. Because he broke the rules regarding keeping his hands together, Anders is disqualified and earns no points.
  • Jakob realises that it is strange that he was made to wear a helmet for the task, and removes it, believing that the inside padding could be lined with rings. Unfortunately, he searches everywhere but the front of the helmet – where the ring is located – before placing the helmet back on his head. Jakob then stomps on the jar to access a ring, successfully putting it on the drumstick. While making his way through the box, Jakob asks Mark if he is wearing any rings; he uses his teeth to remove the ring from Mark’s hand and places it on the drumstick. Jakob also finds the ring taped on the underside of the table, and uses his elbow to get it unstuck. When Jakob gets to the baked beans, he removes his shoes and socks and uses his toes to break through the plastic wrap. He sucks the ring off of the floor and places it on the drumstick just before time runs out. In all, Jakob locates and places four of the five rings, and ties for first place.
  • Annika fumbles with the jar for a bit, wondering how to open it; she eventually gives up on the jar and moves to the cardboard box. While making her way through the box, Annika notices that Mark is wearing a ring; she pulls it off with her fingers and places it on the drumstick. Annika tries to get into the baked beans, but either gives up or realises she is very short on time, as she abandons it before picking up the jar and holding it on top of the drumstick, arguing that she has placed the jar’s ring on the drumstick. In all, Annika finds two rings, but is only credited for placing one of them, and earns third place.
  • Mahamad uses some fancy footwork to help him during the task. He kicks the box onto the ground, then launches it into the air and kicks it again, causing all of the contents to fall out. He steps on the bowl of baked beans to break it apart before declaring it did not contain any rings. Mahamad stomps on the jar to break it open and retrieve its ring, using his mouth to pick it up off of the ground and place it on the drumstick. While searching under the table for a ring (which he finds), Mahamad’s helmet falls off of his head, which he ignores in favour of placing the ring. Near the end of his time, Mahamad looks down at his helmet again and sees the ring taped to the front of it, and uses his fancy footwork to kick the helmet onto the table, where he quickly tears the ring off with his teeth and places it on the drumstick. In all, Mahamad finds and places three rings, and earns second place.
  • Neel uses her fingers to remove the ring from Mark’s hand, then uses her teeth to open the jar and retrieve its ring. Neel then questions why she has to wear a helmet, and finds the ring taped to the front of it. Finally, Neel looks under the table and finds the ring taped underneath it, using her mouth to pull it free. In all, Neel finds and places four rings, and ties for first place.
