The task brief is laid on top of a closed cardboard box on the table in the lab. The briefs for the task are as follows:
On the front of the paper:
Join your hands together so your palms are touching and each finger of one hand is touching the equivalent finger of the other hand.
Your hands must stay in this position for the entirety of the task.
Now turn the task over.
On the back of the paper:
Put the most rings on this stick.
You have 5 minutes.
Your time starts now.
Task notes
- Also on the table, there is a wooden stick with a stand, a bowl of peas, and a small bowl of honey. There is a ring hidden in each of these bowls.
- There are two additional rings hidden inside the cardboard box: one in a plastic bag, and the other tangled up in the cotton wool which fills the box.
- Markl attempts to give each contestant a “supportive hug” when they enter the room, to sneakily tape a fifth ring, hanging from a string, to their backs.
