Biography

Inês Aires Pereira is a Portuguese actress and TV host, who appeared as a fixed contestant in season 1 and 2 of Taskmaster Portugal.

As an actress, she is best known for Lua Vermelha (2010), Rainha das Flores (2016), and Os Compadres (2011).

When she was 18, she went to Lisbon to study theatre, and starred in her first soap opera, Rebelde Way, in 2007. After, she went to Rio de Janeiro for further acting studies. When she returned to Portugal, she starred in the soap opera Lua Vermelha in 2010, and subsequently spent one month in Los Angeles, for an acting course. Back in Porto, she was part of a theatre play cast, but was out of a job in her industry, after. Nevertheless, she worked in waitressing in Lisbon until she was able to travel, and then spent seven months away, between Australia and Asia.

In 2014, she made her debut in TV hosting with Curto Circuito, for SIC Radical (Portuguese TV channel), where she remained until 2016. Between 2018 and 2019, she worked for three RTP (Portuguese TV channel) projects: Idiotas, Ponto; Sara, and Desliga a Televisão. In 2021, she was in the soap opera Para Sempre, for TVI (Portuguese TV channel). Between 2022 and 2023, she was not only a contestant on Taskmaster, but also on Dança Comigo, both for RTP. She was also a cast member in plays such as Avenida Q, A Pior Comédia do Mundo, and Nem a ponta do mindinho (with Raquel Tillo). In 2023, she was cast member in Plim T2 (with Salvador Martinha and João Maria); and was also on tour all throughout Portugal with Brazilian comedy group Porta dos Fundos, with the improv comedy show Portátil. She was nominated for personality of the year in the Entertainment category, in the 27th edition of the Globos de Ouro (the Portuguese version of the Golden Globes).

In 2024, she was part of the new panel of judges in Got Talent Portugal, for RTP. She will return to SIC in August 2024 as a co-host (with João Manzarra) for Parece Impossível, an adaptation of the British The Almost Impossible Gameshow.

Taskmaster notes

Fun fact: All throughout the first season of Taskmaster Portugal, Inês was pregnant with her second son, Joaquim. This consolidated her dynamic with Markl, who felt obligated to help her over the other contestants, during the tasks.
