Taskmaster Intro
Welcome all to Taskmaster! I’m Vasco Palmeirim.
Contestant Intros
She's too pregnant to participate in this carousel, risking her unborn child someday asking: “Why, mother? Why?” It's Inês Aires Pereira!
He's a superstar in Angola, and his first name is what Luigi says to Mario when he sees the Expo '98 mascot. It's Gil-Mario Vemba!
Note: Expo '98 (1998 Lisbon World Exposition) was a World's Fair, held in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1998. The Expo's mascot was named Gil, after the Portuguese navigator Gil Eanes.
Our next contestant started on TVI, has done projects at SIC, and now she's on RTP. She may be missing the times she was at SIC and TVI, poor thing. It's Jessica Athayde!
Note: TVI (Televisão Independente), SIC (Sociedade Independente de Comunicação), and RTP (Rádio e Televisão de Portugal) are all Portuguese TV channel networks.
Here on Taskmaster, we have our own living legend. But, judging by some of his performances, the question is: “Alive, yes, but until when?” It's Toy!
He used to belong to an academic orchestra which played with toilet flushes and TV cables a few years ago. I'm assuming nowadays they'd need to update some of their instruments. Maybe instead of playing cable, he'd play fibre? Ladies and gentlemen: Pedro Tochas!
Note: Pedro was a member of the Orxestra Pitagórica ['Pythagorean Orchestra'], which combined traditional instruments with objects such as toilets, traffic signs, cisterns, pitchers, and umbrellas with bells, in some of its later performances of well-known Portuguese songs.
Assistant Intro
By my side, my right-hand man, and VAR for insanity. He was the first to witness the disasters we will feast upon tonight. If anyone knows well what disasters are, it’s him. Nuno Markl!
Taskmaster's Sign-off
We've learned that there is victory and defeat.
That walking on your knees isn't the same as on your feet.
Making ice disappear quickly is but wishful thinking.
And there's those who suffer from premature blinking.
Long body parts can be very well mimed.
In Setubal there's a man who is a ninja in his spare time.
And when willpower drops to zero on you,
Someone in the nick of time will say “I already want to!”
