Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Anders uses the craft supplies to build a little doll that he calls Wilson, like the volleyball from the movie Castaway. His commercial is shot like a prescription drug commercial, with personal testimony and slow-motion shots of him (and Wilson) being happy together, but doesn’t really describe what Wilson is meant for. Anders earns last place.
  • Annika immediately decides to build a bar, and builds one out of a cardboard box and decorates it with some fabric and colourful paper. Annika’s commercial is shot like an infomercial, with peppy music, and Mark playing multiple characters missing something in their life (a man worried that his child will start drinking early, or a doomsday prepper missing the comfort of their bunker). As a special offer, the Corona Bar comes with an eccentric drunk customer (played by Annika), free with purchase. Annika earns second place.
  • Jakob tapes a few cardboard boxes together and cuts them into a rocket shape with “Ooh, I'm a man” written onto it, which he then has Mark model. For his commercial, Jakob dons a suit and glasses, and addresses the viewer, saying that it’s important for everyone to make time for themselves, and that the Man Rocket is the perfect solution as a kind of portable personal space. He also debuts the women’s model, which is notably larger, as it is “fully fitted with a walk-in closet”. In the studio, Annika (jokingly) points out that the women’s rocket is not too far removed from “a pink Dell” - likely referencing the infamous (and sexist) Della offshoot of the Dell computer brand – and wonders if only white people can use the Man Rocket, since Jakob’s commercial only contained white people. Jakob earns third place.
  • Neel uses the craft supplies to build something that vaguely resembles a cat toy. She names it Ninja-pos. Her commercial has various shots of her and Mark utilising the Ninja-pos (playing tug of war, running it across Mark’s face) without really explaining what it is. The tagline she gives it, “two action men, one sensory experience – including wellness,” doesn’t particularly help, nor does the fact that she cannot really explain what the toy is in the studio. Neel earns fourth place.
  • Mahamad decides that suits and pipes are super adult, so makes sure that he and Mark are dressed up in his commercial. His product, Super Rose 3000, is a high-power water gun equipped with a bottle of rose wine instead of a water tank. To make the Super Rose 3000 even more adult, the bottom of the rose bottle has a pipe attached to it. Lasse declares that all the Super Rose 3000 needs is a needle to make it the most adult thing ever. Mahamad wins the task.
