Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Images will be added later.
- Kalle chooses the basketball. He drapes yellow yarn on the top of the ball, sticks some googly eyes on it, and draws in a pair of glasses, a nose, and some red lips. Kalle declares that he’s certain he will be sued for what he’s made. Jaakko correctly guesses that the basketball is meant to be Eija. Kalle is awarded joint fourth place.
- Susani chooses the exercise ball. She drapes yellow yarn on the top of the ball, and supplements this with yellow tinsel. She draws a large red mouth on the ball, but it does not particularly stand out on the blue surface. She glues some googly eyes on to the ball, as well as what appears to be some broken lollipop sticks in the mouth area, representing teeth. Unfortunately, the glue does not set well, and everything slides down, leaving her with a somewhat creepy finished piece. Jaakko guesses that the exercise ball is meant to be Fathi, before correctly guessing that it’s meant to be Eija. Susani is awarded joint fourth place.
- Eija chooses a ball that appears to be some kind of container, as it has a distinct seam along its entire circumference. She places a neat coil of yellow yarn on top of the ball, and uses yellow tape to keep it on the ball. She also glues several brown pipe cleaners to the mouth area of the ball – also taping these down after the glue runs. Finally, Eija uses her own glasses to give the ball eyes. Jaakko correctly guesses that the ball is meant to be Fathi. Eija is awarded third place.
- Fathi chooses the tennis ball. He tapes some large googly eyes onto the ball, and drapes a large amount of cotton wool on top of it. He also wraps some blue fabric around the pole of the stand on which the ball is mounted. Finally, he tapes his own glasses onto the tennis ball. Jaakko correctly guesses that the ball is meant to be Eija. Fathi wins the task.
- Pirjo chooses the beach ball. She initially draws two large black eyes onto it, but then glues on two googly eyes as well. One of the eyes mostly stays in place, but the glue does not hold on the other, causing a droopy-eyed effect on the beach ball’s face. Pirjo tapes some long pieces of blue tinsel just under the eyes, splitting it around the mouth area. She also adds a small beard below, made out of cotton wool. The beach ball’s hair is made out of a thatch of cotton wool, as well as a piece of paper taped to the top. Jaakko takes a closer look at the beach ball, and realises that the tinsel is meant to represent a moustache, connecting with the beard. He then correctly guesses that the ball is meant to be Kalle. Pirjo is awarded second place, and is given a special acknowledgment by Jaakko for attempting to turn it into someone other than Eija or Fathi.
