Ben nicknames Hayley ‘Mustard Hands’

Ben’s secret mission is to give the contestant seated to his left in the studio (Hayley) the nickname ‘Mustard Hands’.

During the live task of episode 1, in which the contestants are throwing their shoes, Ben takes the opportunity to smell Hayley’s shoes and claim that they smell like mustard, before suggesting that she will have “mustard hands”. When Abby asks Ben to let her focus on her throw, he responds to her that he’s just talking to “Mustard Hands”. Later in that same task, when Paul describes Hayley’s shoes as “classic black leather loafers with a buckle”, Ben adds “Classic Mustard Hands, right?”.

During studio discussion of the ‘Make soap’ task in episode 7, Ben comments that Hayley’s soap had contained lots of food, and suggests that she might as well have added ketchup and mustard in there, adding “Old Mustard Hands”.

While Jeremy says he’d thought it was just Ben Hurley being bizarre, Hayley says she feels like Ben has been lying to her throughout the show, as there was a previous task in which he’d had to pretend to be excited to see her.

Ben earns 5 points for effectively nicknaming Hayley ‘Mustard Hands’.
