Episode synopsis
In this episode the contestants must bring in their most prized childhood possessions, hand some unusual laundry out to dry, build a big flag, try to frighten the Taskmaster, and sweep some items towards the edge of the stage.
Title context
The phrase 'Mexican lasagne' was never actually uttered during the episode, but is a reference to Paul Ego's attempt at the 'Build a big flag' task, during which he mentioned lasagne while talking about the Mexican flag (a perfect reference, since he was mistakenly recreating the Italian flag).
Taskmaster Intro
Kia ora koutou, and welcome to our third episode of Taskmaster. My name is Jeremy Wells, and if you ask about me at that little smoky out-of-the-way Dannevirke pub, they'll tell you what you need to know about me, and that is that I am the Taskmaster. Five comedians have signed the necessary release forms to allow them to put their bodies, their minds, and other parts of themselves through a series of character-defining challenges that we call tasks, all in the hope of going home with my golden skull in its trophy form.
Note: 'Kia ora koutou' is Māori for 'Hello everyone'.
Assistant Intro
And at my side is a young whippersnapper hungry to make a name for himself. Don't let those puppy-dog eyes fool you - he will stop at nothing to get to the top. It's Paul Williams.
Taskmaster's Sign-off
Oh, it's been a good night. We've been reminded that there was a time when rotary clothes lines reigned supreme, and we've seen that there's nothing more terrifying than a woman trying to kill someone when she doesn't know who that someone is. Most importantly, we've seen that the winner of this third episode of Taskmaster is Paul Ego!
