Task brief
The task brief was found on the desk in the study, behind which a crude Olympic logo had been constructed out of hula hoops and hung from the ceiling. The brief for the task is as follows:
Pick a card from Paul's deck, and build a big flag of the country written on your card.
Best big flag wins.
You have 30 minutes.
Your time starts now.
Task notes
- Paul waited on the sofa with the deck of cards from which the contestants had to choose.
- Due to what Paul explained to be the result of a 'printing error', all but one of the cards from which the contestants could choose featured an image of a different flag than that of the nation written upon it.
- As shared by lead task creator Sam Smith on Twitter, here is the full list of the cards available, including the nation whose flag appeared on the card, and the actual nation for which the contestants were required to create a big flag for:
- 1. Australian flag but with “Austria”
- 2. Bhutan flag but with “Bhutan” – because there’s a dragon on it and dragons are cool
- 3. Tanzanian flag but with “Jamaica”
- 4. USA flag but with “UAE”
- 5. Italian flag but with “Mexico”
- 6. Argentina flag but it says “Uruguay”
- 7. Greece flag but it says “Israel”
- 8. Albanian flag but it says “Angola”
- 9. Papua New Guinea flag but it says “Guinea”

Attempts
Here's a brief description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on writing up some additional detail, though!
- Chris did not notice the card mistake, so he made the Solomon Islands' flag instead of the Brazil flag out of grass, yellow balls and a blue tarp. He received 2 points.
- Josh realised that his card meant he had to make the United Arab Emirates' flag, despite it showing the United States of America's flag, so he recreated the UAE's flag using various items located around the house, including barrels, books and camping chairs. He received 5 points.
- Justine did not notice the card mistake, so she made the Tanzanian flag instead of the Jamaican flag out of various strips of paper, and recorded a video hoping that the Jamaican people would be proud of her depiction of their flag. She received 2 points.
- Kura did not notice the card mistake, so she made the Argentinian flag instead of Uruguay's flag, by painting a sheet of paper (though at one point she mentioned how similar the 'Uruguayan' flag looked to the Argentinian flag). She received 2 points.
- Paul did not notice the card mistake, so he made the Italian flag instead of the Mexican flag out of various items from the house. He received 2 points.
