Turn on the party device
- In this task, the contestants have to figure out how to turn on a party device (e.g. a bubble machine or disco light) without moving from the spot they are standing on.
- The device requires a certain number of batteries to operate, which are hidden around the space in which the task takes place.
- There may also be a hidden power cord for the device which, if found, eliminates the need to hunt for batteries altogether.

In this version of the task, the mains power cord is attached to one of the wooden beams in the ceiling of the lab, rather than being hidden on the floor.
