Trailer for Le Maître du Jeu season 1 released

Yesterday, less than a week after my previous update on the Quebecois version of Taskmaster, Le Maître du Jeu, a trailer for the first season was released on Noovo's Twitter account.

I yoinked a copy of that trailer as fast as physically possible, and added it to my YouTube channel, both for archiving purposes, and to make it easier to share. You can watch the trailer here:

So what did we learn from this video?

Well, for starters, it is confirmed on-screen that the show will begin airing from 15 September 2022, as suspected.

We also got to see some tantalising glimpses of some of the Taskmaster UK tasks that have been adapted for the season (as previously noted, we are not expecting to see any original tasks in this version of the show, at least for the first season). Working chronologically through the trailer, those tasks appear to include:

• Burst all of the balloons (the 5th time this task will have appeared in the franchise)
• Empty the bathtub (the 6th appearance of this task)
• Quickly eat an egg (the 4th time this task has appeared)
• Get the exercise balls into a small area at the top of a hill (the 7th occurrence of this task)
• Write a short story while running (the 6th time this will have appeared on screen)
• Score a basket without your hands (the 7th outing of this task)
• Paint a mode of transportation while using that mode of transportation (the staggering 10th appearance of this task, and the 9th version involving a horse)
• Wheelie bin obstacle course (the first time this particular task will have been re-used in another version - will any of them choose to communicate in English?)
• Make a block of ice disappear (the 8th incidence of this task)
• Transfer water from one fishbowl to another (only the 3rd instance of this task)
• Make a bed while holding hands (the 4th occurrence of this task)
• Good ol' Eat as much watermelon as possible (the 8th iteration of this task)
• Reach a location without triggering an alarm (the 4th version of this task)
• Draw an image using a GPS device (the 6th occurrence of this task)
• Get as much flour to a target as possible (also the 6th occurrence of this task)

What wasn't immediately obvious to me is what task was being performed at 0:27 in the trailer, where Christine Morency and someone else are in a golf cart, or what's happening at 1:05, where the contestants are breaking into a small cardboard box. I guess all will be revealed soon enough, though!
