In the 20 January 2023 episode of the Taskmaster: The People's Podcast, New Zealand task writer Sam Smith revealed that he came up with the basic idea for this task while sitting in the Taskmaster NZ caravan, which was being stored by the Kevin & Co offices. He said that the initial draft of the task was just 'Leave the caravan', and that the goal of eating a grape was added at the last minute by producer Joseph Moore. He also shared that the whole 'Paul's Key Emporium' part of the task was created by Paul Williams.

David spent 19 minutes to find the grape, at one point emptying the thermos, and a long time trying to find the padlock code, eventually sliding a book through the gap in the cupboard to get the key. He struggled to find the 10c, eventually transferring the 10c to Paul so he could buy a key. He ate the grape in 1 hour and 23 minutes, receiving 1 point.
Despite spending a lot of time trying to locate the grape and unlocking the first cupboard, Guy was able to solve the clues in the correct order to unlock the caravan door. He ate the grape in 32 minutes and 1 second, receiving 3 points.
Laura enjoyed solving the puzzles, noticing the grape and balloons outside quickly to solve the clues. She ate the grape in 16 minutes and 6 seconds, receiving 5 points.
Matt spent a long time finding the grape and the balloon code. He spent 26 minutes trying to find the 10c, forgetting once he unlocked the caravan to eat the grape. He ate the grape in 47 minutes and 54 seconds, receiving 2 points.
Urzila immediately found the NZ$10, and ended up using it to bribe Paul into giving her the code for the cupboard, then found the screwdriver before finding the box, eventually having to pay by card to get a key from Paul. She ate the grape in 29 minutes and 59 seconds, receiving 4 points.
