Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Janne tells Pilvi to get out of her chair and go to the roof of the Suurmestari mansion. While walking to the roof, Janne asks Pilvi if she knows that many people have fallen off of roofs. Once Pilvi starts climbing the ladder to the roof, her heart rate rises to 95 bpm, and it peaks at 118 bpm as she reaches the top. Janne then pulls out a knife and starts chasing her, which brings her rate up to 120 bpm. He caps off his attempt by telling Pilvi to get in the back seat of his car, which he then drives recklessly around the grounds. At the end of his attempt, Pilvi's maximum heart rate was recorded as 135 bpm.
  • Jenni starts her attempt by telling Pilvi that she had an affair with Pilvi's boyfriend, but this does not raise Pilvi's heart rate at all. Jenni then starts yelling in Pilvi's ears from behind her chair, which also has no effect. Jenni also attempts to convince Pilvi that her dead grandmother was standing behind her, which does not work. Jenni's attempt to raise Pilvi's heart rate by giving her a lap dance only makes her laugh. Jenni ends her attempt by making Pilvi do push-ups and jumping-jacks, and playing tag with her. Jenni manages to raise Pilvi's heart rate to 134 bpm by the end of the attempt.
  • Jorma makes Pilvi do a series of exercises, including rolling around on the ground, squats, and spinning in circles. He thus manages to raise Pilvi's heart rate to 166 bpm, which would have easily won him the task. However, it is revealed that he had also touched Pilvi on numerous occasions during the attempt, including repeatedly pushing her to the ground during her squats, and he is disqualified as a result.
  • Jukka repeatedly threatens to spray Pilvi with a fire extinguisher, and eventually does set off the device, but hits the cameraman with the spray instead of Pilvi. He then tells Pilvi to wait where she is, while he fetches an apple, a bow, and an arrow. He places the apple on her head and pretends that he is going to shoot it off with an arrow, but adjusts his aim and fires the arrow into a tree behind her instead. He then fetches another arrow, makes her close her eyes, and started counting down from three, firing the arrow into the ground near her feet. He caps off his attempt by running around Pilvi in circles, while spraying her with the fire extinguisher. Jukka raises Pilvi's heart rate to a maximum of 143 bpm.
  • Roni posits that the best way to raise someone's heart rate is to either scare them, or make them laugh. He then gives Pilvi a "fierce" look, to start his attempt. This has the opposite of the intended effect, actually lowering her heart rate. Roni then proceeds to engage Pilvi in a staring contest, for the rest of his attempt. This eventually raises her heart rate to just 90 bpm.
