Task brief

The task brief is balanced on top of a small wheelie suitcase. The brief for the task is as follows:

Get to the end of the lanes in exactly the same amount of time.

That time must be under one minute.

The closest two times wins.

Also, you must mirror yourself during your attempts.

There are two bonus points for the most stylish mirroring.

Both attempts must take place within the next 10 minutes.

Task notes

The task takes places on and around a travelator in Gatwick Airport's Terminal 2.
The contestants arrive on an adjacent travelator, while Alex waits for them with their names written on his tablet.

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

Dara walked whilst pointing in different directions to showcase his mirroring, but his walking in the flat lane was slightly faster than the travelator. He reached the end of the lanes with a 4 second time difference.
Fern attempted to do some actions in between travelling, but travelled much slower on the travelator than on the flat walkway. She reached the end of the lanes with a 16 second time difference.
John skipped down the lanes, swapping his suitcase hand halfway. He reached the end of the lanes with a 0.5 second time difference, and received 1 bonus point for having the most stylish mirroring.
Munya did several tricks with his suitcase as he travelled down the lanes, copying himself rather than mirroring himself, and it was decided by Greg that Munya wouldn't be disqualified for failing to cross the line at the end of the flat lane. He reached the end of the lanes with a 3 second time difference, and received 1 bonus point for having the most stylish mirroring.
Sarah walked down both lanes, pausing to march on the spot for a bit, before reaching the end at exactly the same time. There was negligible difference between her two times.
