Task brief

The task brief is received in the garden of the Kongen Befaler House, where there is a small wooden tea cart, with a variety of crockery on it. The brief for the task is as follows:

Decorate the table with as many cactus and balloon pairs as you can.

The task starts with you welcoming everyone to afternoon tea in your garden, in perfect British English.

You may only move your legs when there is at least one soap bubble in the air.

If you move your legs without a soap bubble in the air, Olli clears the table, and you have to start all over again.

Task notes

  • On the back porch of the house, a square white picket fence enclosure has been filled with inflated red balloons, and small potted cacti (in a separate fenced section).
  • Before they read the task brief, Olli gives the contestants a small container full of bubble fluid.
  • Each attempt at the task begins on the upper floor balcony of the house.
  • The amount of time provided to complete the task is not specified in the task brief (at least, in the footage shown), but Olli states in the studio that they had 10 minutes.

Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Henriette keeps getting lucky with bubbles that hang in the air for a long time, allowing her to keep moving. She tries to carry both balloons and cacti at the same time, while also blowing bubbles, which is not a dignified look. She puts some balloons under the cart, and some cacti on top of the cart. In total, she manages to move eight pairs, and earns second place.
  • Live uses a plank to carry multiple cacti in one hand, while blowing bubbles with the other. She stuffs some balloons underneath the tea cart, and puts the cacti on top of it. In total, she manages to move six pairs, and earns third place.
  • Kristoffer saves himself a lot of hassle by moving the tea cart to where the balloons and cacti are, so he doesn't have to keep running back and forth. He also spots that the task says nothing about the balloons having to remain inflated, so bursts them and lays them across the cacti, saving himself a lot of space. In total, he manages to fit 16 cactus-balloon pairs on the cart before time runs out, winning the task.
  • Martha keeps moving after all of her bubbles have popped, meaning she has to repeatedly return to the balcony and start over, seemingly employing a slightly different British accent each time. This begins to wear on her, so her afternoon tea announcements become less and less enthusiastic over time. She ultimately manages to only get two cacti onto the tea cart, and no balloons, so earns no points.
  • Espen decides to pour bubble fluid into his mouth, with the idea that he could then just blow bubbles at will, and keep his hands free. During his first trip to the tea cart, though, he runs out of fluid in his mouth, and realises he has left the container for it on the porch, so has to start over. He nevertheless persists with his method, even though he still has to carry to fluid around with him in one hand. Though he manages to get some cacti on the tea cart, he does not get any balloons on it to pair with them, so earns no points.
