Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Martin has the misfortune of having to solve Eva's impossible puzzle, but despite coming up with different times for two of the clues, somehow correctly determines the first three digits of the code correctly. He then begins working through all the possible numbers for the fourth digit, experiencing a delay after every few guesses, as the safe disallows him from entering a new code for a short period. Unfortunately for Martin, he for some reason skips over '7', and runs out of time before he can double back to try it, after eliminating all other possibilities. Since he does not solve the puzzle in time, he receives no points in this task. [Note: While looking in the hamper in the study for his first clue from Eva, he happens to find four cheese sticks in a backpack. It turns out that these are there completely by coincidence, as a result of a completely unrelated task attempt by season 5 contestant Jonas Mogensen.]
  • Simon has the misfortune of having to solve Martin's almost impossible puzzle. Although all of the clues are present for him, written across the piles of coloured paper on the desk, he is unable to make any sense of them, since some of the letters are not in the correct order. After struggling for a while, he gives up on the puzzle.
  • Sebastian is set the challenge of solving Simon's puzzle. He struggles for some time to identify the connection between the clues left out on the desk in front of him, but solves it after 12 minutes and 16 seconds, earning second place.
  • Eva is set the challenge of solving Julie's puzzle. She is instructed to have a drink, and finds another clue in the globe bar which instructs her to sing to Mark. As she sings, he starts removing his shirt, revealing the number '5' on his belly. Another clue instructs her to name 10 European capitals, and when she completes that, Mark reveals another clue tucked into the back of his trousers. Another clue leads her to removing his shoes and socks, and finding two more digits written on the bottom of his feet. The final code is '5217', and she finds a turtle inside the safe. She solves the puzzle in 13 minutes and 48 seconds, earning third place in the task.
  • Julie is set the challenge of solving Sebastian's puzzle, which turns out to be incredibly easy for her. She opens the safe and finds some car keys inside after just 1 minute and 23 seconds. As the fastest to solve a puzzle, she wins the task.
