Task brief
The brief for the task is as follows:
Get the Christmas tree that lights up.
You must connect one of the two Christmas trees, and then offer one of the Christmas trees to the Taskmaster.
The Taskmaster then chooses whether to keep or exchange his Christmas tree.
If you end up with the turned-off Christmas tree, you're out.
Task notes
- The contestants are lined up on one side of the stage.
- In the middle of the stage, there are two small Christmas trees upon a table: one with a red star on the top, and one with a blue star.
- One one end of the table, there is a gift-wrapped box, within which there is a switch or set of plugs that allows one of the contestants to choose which of the Christmas trees will light up, when a power cord is connected.
- The Taskmaster stands at the other end of the table and tries to read the contestants' behaviour, to determine which tree is likely to light up.
- Once three of the contestants have been eliminated, the final two play against one another, instead of against the Taskmaster.
- This game is clearly inspired by the popular 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown game, 'Carrot in a box', just as another live task format used by both Kongen Befaler and Stormester was.
