Task brief

The brief for the task is as follows:

From your spot, stick a pickle to the bullseye.

If your pickle lands in the 1, you must read an apology from the apology jar before throwing again.

If you pickle lands in the 2, you must eat a whole pickle before throwing again.

If your pickle lands in the 3, you must wear oven mitts for your next throw.

If you miss the board altogether, you must live with the shame of that.

For a successful bullseye, more than half your pickle must be inside the bullseye for more than five seconds.

First to stick a pickle to the bullseye wins.

Task notes

The contestants are lined up on stage behind tables, upon each of which there is a jar of whole pickled gherkins, a jar of sliced pickled gherkins, a large jar containing apologies written on folded-up pieces of paper, and a pair of oven mitts.
Also in front of each contestant is a circular target, consisting of three concentric rings, printed on a sheet of clear perspex.
