Task briefs

The task brief is laid on a doormat, at the edge of some astroturf on the driveway of the Taskmaster house. The briefs for the task are as follows:

Bash the big bell with the bowling ball.

Fastest gets five points.

Slowest gets four points.

Nobody else gets any points.

You are to stay off the grass unless you're wearing gold shoes.

If anything other than the bowling ball or gold shoes touches the grass, you are disqualified.

You have a maximum of 20 minutes.

Your time starts now.

To anyone who asks Alex to give them his golden shoes:

Alex will give you his shoes if you do one of the following: deposit £100 in his bank account; give him a perfect dippy boiled egg with buttered soldiers, and a glass of milk; physically remove them.

Task notes

  • Also on the astroturf is a red bowling ball and Alex, wearing a pair of gold shoes, next to a sign which reads 'PLEASE KEEP OFF THE GRASS'.
  • Near the top end of the driveway, there is a large metal service bell.
  • There is one gold shoe hidden in a pile of shoes under a table in the hallway of the house, and the other is hidden underneath the giant golden pineapple in the geodesic dome.
  • If anyone asks Alex to give them the gold shoes he is wearing, he hands them the second task brief.
  • In case the contestants decide they want to paint a different shoe gold, there are cans of spray-paint available in the shed. However, the can which is gold on the outside contains red paint, and vice-versa.

Attempts

Here's a brief description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on writing up some additional detail, though!

  • Frankie initially bowled the bowling ball before making "gold shoes" out of yellow swing ball racquets tied to his feet so he could walk on the fake grass. He bashed the bell with the bowling ball in 6 minutes and 50 seconds, receiving 4 points. Whilst his competitors initially argued against his solution, Frankie's attempt was accepted once it was revealed that his disqualification would have meant Mae would have received 9 points.
  • Ivo initially bowled the bowling ball all the way to the gate, before requesting Alex's shoes and spending a long time trying to make him the perfect dippy boiled egg. Having presented Alex with the egg, he grabbed his shoes and ran to hit the bell with the bowling ball. After bashing the bell, Ivo drank Alex's milk and exclaimed "It's my milk now", thus coining the episode's title. Despite bashing the bell with the bowling ball in 19 minutes and 44 seconds, he both touched the real grass and put the plinth with Alex's food on the fake grass, so was disqualified.
  • Jenny initially rolled the bowling ball up the fake grass before finding a gold shoe in the giant pineapple. She then decided to spray her boots gold, first finding red spray paint disguised in a golden can, before finding the gold spray paint in a red can. Despite bashing the bell with the bowling ball in 3 minutes and 40 seconds, she had accidentally stepped on the real grass to avoid the fake grass, so was disqualified from the task.
  • Kiell initially bowled the bowling ball before requesting Alex's shoes and attempting to physically remove them. He then rolled up the fake grass to retrieve the bowling ball, before repeatedly re-bowling the ball. Despite bashing the bell with the bowling ball in 3 minutes and 45 seconds, Kiell accidentally stood on the real grass, so was disqualified from the task.
  • Mae managed to find a gold show in the pile of boots and, after looking for the other shoe, decided to just hop with the bowling ball to the bell, using the one shoe they had found. They bashed the bell with the bowling ball in 2 minutes and 57 seconds, receiving 5 points.
