Task notes

  • Prior to the presentation of the task brief, David engages each contestant in some small talk, in the study, asking them about their favourite number, favourite accent, and favourite animal.
  • Their answers to these questions are added to spaces in the task brief off-camera, dictating the final wording of their personalised challenges.
  • David swaps the presumably blank task envelope he has been holding for the customised version of the task brief as he heads out of the house.
  • In addition to being a hybrid of the ‘Set the parameters for your own task’ and ‘Make the scales read exactly a given weight’ tasks, the aspect of this task whereby the contestants must dispose of any items they have used, if they exceed their target weight, is reminiscent of the requirement that contestants dispose of their cocktails, when they exceed a certain volume during the cocktail-oriented versions of the ‘Make something as quietly as possible’ task.
