Task briefs

The initial task brief is presented to the contestants in the study by Paul, who is holding it out to them between two pool cues. A large number of superfluous additional task briefs are suspended on fishing wire from the ceiling of the study. The actual brief to be completed is painted on a large white sheet, attached to the roof of the house. The briefs for the task are as follows:

Complete all the tasks on the roof.

You may only touch a task using these pool cues.

Fastest wins.

Your time starts now.

Cheer Paul up.

Help Paul make some lunch.

Don’t worry about this one.

Throw a grape into Paul’s mouth from across the room.

Lead Paul in a one-minute exercise class.

Write a thrilling two-person play and perform it with Paul.

Shake Paul’s hand for five minutes.

Completely cover the desk.

Make Paul drink a litre of liquid.

Draw a portrait of a celebrity.

Paul must be able to recognise who it is.

Give yourself a big makeover.

Play hacky-sack with Paul until you complete six consecutive hackies.

Count how many fingers Paul is holding up.

Play paper, scissors, rock with Paul.

Make Paul a drink.

Name 18 countries that Paul knows the capital city of.

Collect 10 vastly different green things.

Follow your dreams.

On a large white sheet, attached to the roof of the house::

High five Paul.

Task notes

  • A large number of superfluous additional task briefs are suspended at various heights on fishing wire from the ceiling of the study.
  • The actual task brief to be completed is painted in the form of an oblique anamorphic projection on a large white sheet attached to the roof of the house, so that when viewed from the balcony below, it is perfectly readable.
