The task brief is found in the lab, either on the creeper (if the contestant chose the distance of 2 metres) or on the back of the canvas (if they chose 20 centimetres). The brief for the task is as follows:
Paint a picture of the Taskmaster while lying on your back.
Your work must portray the Taskmaster while emphasising the two strongest characteristics of his persona.
You will paint from the distance you chose a moment ago.
You have 20 minutes.
You must lay on your back on the creeper throughout the entire attempt.
Your time starts now.
Task notes
- Before the contestants enter the lab, Pilvi meets them at the steps leading into the house, and asks them to choose a distance of either 2 metres or 20 centimetres, without any context for how this relates to the upcoming task. After they make their choice, Pilvi leads them to the lab.
- Inside the lab, the contestants find a canvas suspended from the ceiling at their chosen height above where they will be lying on a mechanics’ creeper.
- Also provided on the table in the room, there are some disposable overalls, a pair of goggles, a single paintbrush and some acrylic paints, a long wooden pole, and some white tape.
