In this version of the task, the contestants are specifically instructed to call an older family member. There is no rule preventing them from remaining silent once the phone call has begun.

The task brief is presented on top of an antique KTAS hand crank telephone on the desk in the study. The brief for the task is as follows:
Call an older family member and make them hang up on you.
If you end the conversation, or the older family member becomes suspicious, you will be disqualified.
Fastest wins.
