Task brief

The brief for the task is as follows:

Tie the string to the ends of the glasses, then put them on.

Fastest wins.

The contestants are lined up side-by-side on stage, each standing behind a yellow toolbox which is locked with a four-digit combination lock.
The contestants need to figure out the combination to the lock, which turns out to be ‘1994’. The significance of this number is not revealed (unlike in other versions of this task, it is not Vasco’s year of birth).
Inside the toolbox, there is a pair of glasses and an inflated balloon, inside of which a length of string has been hidden.
Vasco’s first clue to the combination is “MCMXCIV”.
His second clue is “498.5 x 4”.
His third clue is “The year of the ‘94 World Cup.”
