Task notes
- The contestants are lined up side-by-side on stage, each standing on a small circular red marker spot.
- The checkerboard stage has had numbers adhered to the squares in front of and behind the contestants, with the marker spots representing ‘zero’ on the scale, which runs from ‘-5’ behind them, to ‘3’ in front of them.
- Mark and Lasse are unusually positioned at stage-left, where Mark is standing behind a keyboard synthesiser on a stand, and a music stand on which he has some sheet music.
- Before the game begins, Mark assigns each contestant a note from the keyboard to listen out for. At the start of the game, he cues up a drumbeat on the keyboard, to play along to.
- During the game, Mark plays each contestant’s note three times in total, in a seemingly random order, so everyone has the opportunity to move forward to ‘3’ on their scale, if they identify their note correctly each time.
- If the contestants make a mistake, Mark plays the crashing sound effect from the electric maze used in the ‘Complete the tasks with increasing rapidity’ task, earlier in the episode, which triggers a traumatised response from all of the contestants.
