Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Dara is selected from his team to write the list of animals, and chooses: cat, dog, giraffe, tortoise, kangaroo, chimpanzee, fish, rabbit, bear, and parrot. While he is writing, Fern suggests that they could watch how his arm moves, and determine what's on the list based on that. In reponse to this Greg says that, if she's able to do that, he will take her on tour and make money from her. Amazingly, she does correctly identify the first animal on the list, when prompted by Alex to take a guess. Fern then nominates John to perform the animal miming role for their team, which Dara does not seem sure about. His concern is seemingly backed up almost immediately, as John heads towards the wrong list of animals. Once redirected, he successfully conveys 'lion', 'monkey' (after initially saying 'N', rather than 'L'), and 'cat'. He passes on 'wolf', after what Greg describes as the "shittest impression of that animal" he's ever seen, in which he softly howls 'V' at the ceiling. He then successfully communicates 'shark', 'horse', 'crocodile' (after quite some time spent pleadingly repeating 'B' at his team, while snapping his arms together as its jaws), and with just five seconds left, 'koala' (clinging onto one of the on-stage columns). With a total of seven correct guesses, the team earns joint first place.
  • Munya immediately claims that he knows "loads of animals" but, after Sarah objects to his level of confidence, he lets her write their list instead. Sarah writes: lion, monkey, cat (domestic) wolf, shark, horse, crocodile, koala, giraffe, and rabbit. Taking on the miming role, Munya successfully communicates to Sarah, 'cat', 'dog' (by sniffing at Dara's and Fern's backsides), and 'giraffe'. Sarah passes on 'tortoise' after not getting his mime of slowly crawling across the stage on all fours while repeating 'S'. Munya then successfully communicates 'kangaroo' (after initially saying 'L', while hopping across the stage, rather than 'J'), 'chimpanzee' (after jumping up and clinging onto John Kearns as if he was a tree), 'fish', and 'rabbit'. With just three seconds left, Sarah does not have time to correctly guess Munya's mime of a bear. With a total of seven correct guesses, the team earns joint first place.
