Task brief
The (smaller than usual) task brief is received in the study, where it is attached to the ear of the golden bust of Lasse Rimmer. The brief for the task is as follows:
Hang something in your ear, and then make an earhanger about that thing.
You have two minutes to hang something in your ear.
You then have 60 minutes to make an earhanger about what you've hung in your ear.
The most catchy ear-hanger wins.
Your time starts now.
Task notes
- The Danish word translated here as 'earhanger' is their equivalent of the English 'earworm', and the word translated here as 'catchy' would be literally translated as 'in-ear-falling', which is why Martin's solution is perfectly valid.

Attempts
Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!
- Simon hangs a piece of red thread with a feather on the end from his ear. With his available time, he uses multiple musical instruments to improvise multiple songs about the red thread, but ends up sticking with his first attempt, a song titled 'I must have forgotten something', where he played guitar and sang something like: "I must have forgotten something. / Unlock the door, enter and find the sacred strap for my ear. / It's a red string with a feather in it. / You just think it's some string with a feather in it. / But it's not. It's not, no. / It is so much, much more.". The song ends with the distinct rapidly strummed chord and word 'kiss' from the end of Prince's song Kiss. Lasse awards him fourth place for his efforts.
- Eva decides to stick a plectrum in her ear. She then creates and performs a music video for her song, 'Buy a plectrum, it's good. Especially to prevent calluses.' The video begins with Mark trying to play guitar without a plectrum and hurting his fingers. The song then begins, with Eva appearing as multiple characters in different costumes (including an angel), and singing something like: "Denmark. Action. Right now. / It is a problem that the hard strings destroys the fingers of little girls and boys. / Tell me, how do you think it feels to have fingers like small, hard strawberries? / It's no damn fun. / Trust me when I say: I have tried it myself. / So think twice before you deny that it's hard to play the guitar without a plectrum. / Come, let's pull together until you get skin. / Buy a plectrum, it's good, especially against calluses. / Come, let's pull together, all of us. / Prevention against calluses will go further. / Lolo, lolololo, lolololo...". The song fades out on th 'lololo' chorus, which is sung by a whole group of people waving flags from different countries. Lasse gives her credit for this approach to the chorus, and awards her third place.
- Martin uses tape to hang a pair of scissors from his ear. Then, instead of creating a musical 'earhanger' he has the top of his ear pierced, and has jewellery featuring a tiny pair of scissors put in, in such a way that the scissors literally hang inside his ear. Although initially resistant to the idea, Lasse is convinced by Martin and Sebastian's arguments that his attempt is valid, and ultimately awards him first place in the task, for his unique interpretation.
- Sebastian breaks a lollipop off the end of its stick, and then bends and hangs the stick from his ear. His song is very well performed, with him playing the guitar, and singing something along the lines of: "I woke up one morning with a stick in my ear. [slang phrase for being drunk] / It seemed quite idiotic, I could hardly hear anything. Oh no. / I fell from a cloud and went eight miles, tore my soul on a woman's smile. / It seems rather idiotic, but I do have a stick in my ear. / They cried: "Please, remember your god and your king and your home country." / They probably think I've lost my mind. / Am I crazy? Am I crazy? / There's a damn stick in my ear. / It seems rather idiotic, but I do have a stick in my ear. / It seems rather idiotic, but I have a stick in my ear.". Lasse gives him credit for performing a good earhanger, but also asks him if he is a fan of the American country singer, Kenny Rogers, pointing out the unmissable similarities between his 1979 song, Just Dropped In, and Sebastian's song. Penalising him for his plagiarism, Lasse awards him last place in the task.
- Julie decides to hang some paper cash from her ear. She then creates and performs in a music video for her song, 'Money, bucks, dough, dinero', which features Mark in a dress and wig, as a backing dancer, and also a cameo by season 1 contestant, Ruben Soltoft. The lyrics to her catchy pop song go something like: "Money, bucks, dough, dinero. / Independent woman earning my own money, / but with high interest rates they don't last long. / So pull them out of the bank, all the cash is yours, / become a rich bitch who spends money like a pig. / Withdraw them, smoke them, eat them, use them, / burn them, drink them, give them to Ruben. / Place them in a shell company, make a dress and some bling. / They can be used for everything. Even on the toilet, right? / Money, bucks, dough, dinero. / Money, bucks, dough, dinero. / Money, bucks, dough, dinero. / Me and my bitches are going out spending pennies. / Money, bucks, dough, dinero. / Money, bucks, dough, dinero. / Money, bucks, dough, dinero. / The floor is mine and everyone thinks it's the shit. / I need a lot of money, there are no more drops, / I'm a poor can, so the cans I have to pawn. / I get desperate when they close my phones. / Please, Mark Le Fêvre, may I borrow 100 kroner?". Lasse credits her with her strategy of using a catchy, repetitive chorus, and awards her second place in the task.
