Task briefs
The task brief is laid on the desk in the study. The briefs for the task are as follows:
The floor becomes lava when Olli blows his whistle.
Save yourself.
Get as far away from where you are now as possible.
The floor is still lava.
You have four minutes.
Your time starts now.
Task notes
- There are obvious similarities between this task and the 'Transport something as far as possible without touching the ground' task but, since the contestants are not transporting an object, and there are no restrictions on stepping on the same thing twice, it has been categorised here as an original task.

Attempts
Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!
- To save himself, Vidar quickly stands with one leg on his chair, and one up on the desk. He then uses a pair of chairs as mobile platforms, stepping from one to the other, and then picking the first up and placing it ahead of himself as his next stepping-stone. Using this method, he is able to get out of the study, through the living room, and out onto the steps at the back of the house. He negotiates the steps by stepping on the walls at their edge, and throwing the chairs down them to use later. However, in the process of trying to stand on one of the chairs on the lawn, he accidentally steps on the lawn itself, and his attempt ends. In the studio, Olli reveals that Vidar managed to travel 15.7m, which secures him third place.
- To save herself, Karin quickly stands up on her chair. Having read the second task brief, she quickly jumps up to stand on the desk, and then panics, not knowing what to do from there. She seeks confirmation from Olli that the rugs are not lava, and then stands on one of them and scoots across the floor. She manages to get out of the house on her rug, and hops along on it, towards the garage. She initially suggests that she could get into and drive a car, but doesn't have a license, and asks whether that would be okay (thus coining the episode title). She instead opts to use a bicycle, and is able to travel all the way down the driveway and out onto the road on it, despite the lack of air in its tyres. In the studio, Olli reveals that she travelled a total distance of 853m, which wins her the task.
- To save himself, Leo runs to the staircase which, fortunately for him, is carpeted, and therefore counts as 'safe'. Having ascended to the landing, which is not carpeted, he scoots along it while standing on a rug. He then ascends the stairs up to the attic, which are not carpeted, and resumes his rug-sliding technique to get to the far end of the attic. In the studio, Olli confirms that he only measures to the start of the second flight of stairs, giving Leo a distance of 22.4m. This earns him second place in the task.
- As she reads the first task brief, Hani already has her feet up on the desk, so finds that she is already safe. She asks Olli to fetch her a shopping trolley from the garage. He admits, in the studio, that he only agreed to do this for her because he realised it would use up a fair amount of her time, waiting for him. Once the trolley has arrived, Hani stands in it and attempts to shunt herself forwards by shifting her weight. However, she is only able to get as far as the door between the study and living room before her time runs out. In the studio, Olli reveals that she managed to travel just 4.3m, which puts her in joint fourth place with Lars.
- To save himself, Lars puts his feet up on the desk. He is skeptical about the logic of the game, since Olli informs him that the rugs are not consumed by the lava. He tries to stand on one of the rugs and scoot himself out of the room, but loses his balance almost immediately, and crashes into the door, landing on the floor. This moment is replayed for everyone's amusement, in the studio. Olli reveals that Lars managed to travel 4.3m (the exact same distance as Hani), so he secures joint fourth place, despite his humiliation.
