Task briefs
The task briefs are received in the study by both parts of each team. The briefs for the task are as follows:
Make a treasure map.
Your team-mate must find the treasure in exactly 20 minutes.
You cannot reveal any information from the letter to your team-mate.
The team that finds the treasure closest to 20 minutes wins.
You have 10 minutes.
Your time starts now.
Follow the treasure map and find the treasure.
Good luck.
Task notes
- The team members setting the treasure hunts up (Karin and Vidar) are provided with a pen and a blank piece of paper, to draw their map and write instructions.
- The team members trying to find the treasure are given their treasure map by Olli, after reading the task brief.
- This task has some similarities with Stormester's linked 'Set a puzzle to open the safe' / 'Find out what's in the safe' tasks, but is different enough that it is categorised as original here.

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!
- Karin attempts to build timed delays into the instructions on her treasure map, instructing Leo to "Go into the garage for 5 minutes.", "Sit on the stairs for 10 minutes.", "Get yourself a coffee.", and "Spend 5 minutes walking over to the treasure." Her map includes drawings of all of the locations including the caravan, where the treasure (a bowl of something unspecified) is located. After receiving Karin's treasure map, Leo can't understand why he might have been instructed to kill so much time, when the map tells him exactly where the treasure is. He therefore decides to ignore all of her instructions, and goes straight to the caravan, where he finds the bowl containing the treasure after just 1 minute and 17 seconds. The team therefore loses the task, earning just one point each.
- Vidar's three-step instructions are as follows: "1. Use this thing."; "2. On this thing."; "3. Use thing three on the next thing." He puts a rake in the caravan ("this thing") for his team-mates to use to retrieve a note attached to a knife, stuck into a tree ("that thing"). The knife is then to be used to cut the tape holding a wooden box closed, which he has left inside the house ("the next thing"). When asked by Olli whether he thinks that his team-mates will take 20 minutes to complete this treasure hunt, he immediately admits that he does not. His map crudely notes the locations of the three items in the caravan, tree, and house. Hani and Lars head into the garden and are able to figure out that the caravan and tree are two of the locations noted on Vidar's map. They quickly retrieve the rake from the caravan, and use it to reach up and dislodge the knife from the tree. They then head into the living room of the house, where they eventually find the wooden box, and use the knife to cut the tape. Inside, they find a single Ferrero Rocher chocolate, which they are both very disappointed by. In the studio, Lars admits that he was disappointed with the task in general, and asks whether there is anything more to it. After confirming that no, that's all there was to it, Olli reveals that the team found the treasure in 8 minutes and 13 seconds, winning the task.
