Task briefs

The briefs for the task are as follows:

To player 1:

Grab the marshmallow on the table with your tongs.

When Babben says ‘0, 1, 2, take or hit’, you have ten seconds to grab the marshmallow.

As soon as your tong is over the table, you must fulfil your attempt to grab the marshmallow.

If you grab the marshmallow on the table with your tongs, you win.

To player 2:

Smack away the marshmallow on the table with your hand.

When Babben says ‘0, 1, 2, take or hit’, you have ten seconds to smack the marshmallow away.

Your hands may not be above the table until your opponent’s tongs are above the table.

If you smack the marshmallow away with your hand, you win.

Task notes

  • The phrase ‘Noll, ett, två, ta eller slå’ (‘0, 1, 2, take or hit’) is both rhythmic and rhymes, much like the phrase ‘3, 2, 1, slap or tong’ used in the British version of the task.
  • One real task point is awarded for each round won.

Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Images will be added later.

  • The first round is between Marko (with the tongs) and Nikki. Marko fakes out Nikki, who waves her hand over the table but does not hit the marshmallow. Marko moves to grab the marshmallow but Nikki smacks it off first. However, as she had her hand above the table before Marko moved his tongs over, Marko earns the point. The second round is between Henrik (with the tongs) and Linnéa. Henrik tries to distract Linnéa by waving to the people behind her, but it doesn’t work. However, he is still quicker than her, and manages to grab the marshmallow, earning the point. The third round is between Nikki (with the tongs) and Evelyn. Nikki laughs at Babben, as Babben takes a particularly long time to say the words to start the round. She uses this to her advantage, and quickly scoops up the marshmallow, earning the point. The fourth round is between Evelyn (with the tongs) and Henrik. Henrik holds his hands on either side of the table, creating a narrower window for the tongs to reach the marshmallow. Evelyn manages to get the tongs to the marshmallow, but it slides out of the tongs and falls off of the table, so Henrik wins the point. The fifth and final round is between Linnéa (with the tongs) and Marko. Marko hovers at the edge of the table. Linnéa clicks the tongs together to fake Marko out, which causes him to reach for the marshmallow prematurely, so Linnéa wins the point.
