Task brief

The actual text of the task brief is not known. The text below is paraphrased based on information disclosed in the episode:

Jump out of your box.

To jump out of your box, you must stand, stretch your arms to the sides, and yell 'Ta-da!'.

The second-to-last person to jump out of their box wins.

The last person to jump out of their box gets no points.

Task notes

  • The contestants are each sat inside their own individual boxes on stage, which have their names written on the front, and are topped with easily-torn paper for them to burst through.
  • The contestants are wearing headphones, which means they cannot hear what is happening around them.
  • Each box has a camera inside it, so the viewers at home can see the contestants. However, it seems that the people in the studio can only see the boxes, and no box camera footage is shown on the in-studio screen.
  • Olli refers to the contestants and the game as “troll i eske”, which literally translates to “troll in a box”, but is also the Norwegian translation for a ‘jack-in-the-box’.
  • The music that plays for the audience (and presumably in the contestants’ headphones) is the traditional jack-in-the-box tune of Pop Goes the Weasel.
