Task brief
How the task briefs are presented to the contestants for this task. Not necessary for prize tasks. The brief for the task is as follows:
To the music, and on David's cue, dip ‘n lift your biscuit into the coffee.
Down and up, down and up, i.e. dip ‘n lift.
You may, whenever you like, end your attempt by placing the biscuit on the saucer.
If your biscuit breaks, you’re out.
The last person to place their whole biscuit on the saucer is the winner.
Task notes
- This task took place during the ‘Middle of the show’ segment, as a game titled ‘Docha och oppa’ (Dip ‘n lift).
- Each contestant has a small table in front of them, upon which there is a cup of black coffee and an empty saucer, on top of a doily.
- A saxophonist and a trombone player are brought on stage to perform the backing music for the task. They are the same musicians, and are performing the same tune, as used in previous live tasks, such as the ‘Musical words’ task in season 2.
- After the task brief has been read out, David brings out a small cake stand which is loaded up with five different varieties of biscuits: ‘havreflarn’ (oatmeal cookies) with chocolate; ‘kolasnittar’ (toffee cookies); ‘syltgrottan’ (thumb-print cookies),; ‘pepparkakor’ (gingerbread cookies); and ‘drömmar’ (sugar cookies).
- The contestants get to choose their biscuits based on their current scores, with the lowest scoring contestant (Behrouz) picking first, followed by Maria, then Charlotta, then Johan, then Mauri. Although there are multiple biscuits of each variety on the tray, each contestant is instructed to choose a unique variety.
- Once the task has started, David instructs the contestants on when to dunk or lift their biscuit (by saying “docha” or “oppa”), rather than them doing so in time to the music itself. Although David’s timing does coincide with the music initially, he later begins leaving longer pauses between his instructions.
