Task brief
The task brief is initially beneath a plate of food under a cloche, and is presented to the contestants by David. The brief for the task is as follows:
Find something remarkable you have in common with your blind date.
You must look your date in the eyes while your date is talking to you.
You must carefully shake hands with your date under the table, every time you discover something you have in common.
Most remarkable thing in common with your date wins.
Bonus point for most things in common.
The table is reserved for 10 minutes.
Your time starts when you greet your date, or started when you greeted your date.
Task notes
- The contestants arrive in the room to find it set up with a restaurant table for two, including glasses of wine, breadsticks, and candles in empty wine bottles.
- Already sat at the table, there is an old lady named Merja.
- David arrives in the room after the contestants, dressed as a waiter, and carrying a tray with a cloche. He sets the tray down on the table and reveals a plate loaded with spaghetti and meatballs from beneath.
- David reappears in the room to let the contestants know when there are five minutes left on the clock, and then again in the final minute of the task to provide a countdown.
- In a possible nod to the first version of this task to be aired (on the Spanish version of the show, Dicho y Hecho), the meeting with the stranger is presented as a blind date, and there is a bonus point available to the person who finds the most things in common with their date (which was actual goal of the Spanish version of the task). However, other complications to the task used in the original version (e.g. having to whisper, only asking ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questions, and the fact that the date always lies to you) are not included.
