Task brief

The task brief is laid on an ornate silver platter, along with a single slice of white sandwich bread, laid on the extended drawer of a small table in the garden. The brief for the task is as follows:

Make a good-looking sandwich.

All toppings that you will put on the sandwich must be thrown over the bar, and land directly on the bread.

You cannot touch the sandwich or the toppings after they have been thrown.

The bar must remain as it is now, throughout the task.

Best looking sandwich wins.

You have 10 minutes.

Bon appé-time starts now.

Task notes

Also on the table are a variety of sandwich toppings, including slice of cheese and ham, lettuce leaves, slices of cucumber and tomato, prawns, crunchy fried onions, and condiments including mayonnaise.
Next to the table, there is a set of high-jump stands with a bar, and there is also a step-ladder on hand.
As the contestants arrive, Olli asks them to stand next to one of the uprights, so that he can adjust the bar’s height to be about 1 metre above their head, making the task equally challenging for everyone.
Before the contestants begin their attempts, Olli climbs up onto the platform of the treeless treehouse to observe them.
For the scoreboard update shown after this task, Ingrid’s photo has been switched out for one of her flipping the bird to her left. Since she is at the very bottom of the scoreboard at this point (far left of the screen), this gives the impression that she is flipping the bird to all of the other contestants who are beating her.
