Task brief

The brief for the task is as follows:

Completely cover your team-mate in rubber rings.

Catchers must face the Taskmaster at all times, with their hands above their head.

Throwers must stay behind the white line.

First team to completely cover their team-mate in rubber rings wins.
The Taskmaster studio stage. On the stage are four piles of watermelon-themed inflatable rubber rings. Standing on the stage are John Robins, Sophie Willan, Alex Horne, and Steve Pemberton. Joanne McNally and Nick Mohammed are standing on the floor in front of the stage facing the audience. Both of them have their hands up in the air above their heads. Greg Davies is sitting on his thrown facing the stage. Only the back of the throne can be seen.

Task notes

  • The contestants are stood side-by-side in their teams, on either side of the stage.
  • Each team is stood in front of two stacks of watermelon-themed inflatable rubber rings, in two sizes (six large ones, and seven smaller ones).
  • Before the task brief is read, Alex instructs each team to nominate one member to stand on a golden ‘TM’ marker spot in front of the stage.
  • Greg’s throne has been moved so that he is positioned facing the centre of the stage.
  • A white line has been marked across the length of the stage, from behind which the other contestants must throw their rings.
  • After the task begins, Alex moves down off the stage to retrieve and return any rings thrown which miss their targets.
