The brief for the task is as follows:
Fan out your flame.
You cannot move from or move your mat.
You may not throw items.
If your candle falls, you are disqualified.
Fastest fanned-out flame wins.
Task notes
- The contestants are lined up side by side on stage, each standing on a red ‘TM’ marker spot next to a table.
- On each of the tables, there are some sticks cut from tree branches, a pair of scissors, some narrow tape and some wide tape, some wooden lollipop sticks in a jar, and a paper folding hand-fan.
- A couple of metres in front of each contestant, there is a plinth, on top of which there is a lit candle.
