Task briefs

The first task brief is laid on the table in the lab. The second task brief has been opened and attached to the ceiling of the lab, above the table, so that the contestants can read it once their hands have been incapacitated. The briefs for the task are as follows:

Put your hands on the hands, shut your eyes, and keep them shut until you hear the whistle.

Your time starts now.

Pour all the vinegar into the fish tank.

Fastest wins.

For every millilitre spilt, one second will be added to your time.

Task notes

Two red vinyl hand shapes have been attached to the corners of the table surface furthest from the contestants.
Two jar lids are hung on fishing wire from the ceiling of the lab, above the other two corners of the table.
The set-up of the contestants’ hands being put out of action at the start of the task and then trying not to spill something is reminiscent of the ‘Put all the gloves back in the glove box‘ task, where Alex handed them two cocktail glasses full of sand which they had to attempt not to spill while removing their gloves.
The ‘fish tank’ the contestants are looking for is a plastic fish driving a toy plastic tank, on the table in the caravan, covered with a camo net. A plastic storage container has been placed under the shell of the tank, to catch the vinegar.
