Task briefs

The briefs for the task are as follows:

One member of your team must write the names of 10 animals in two minutes.

Communicate the other team’s animals to your team members, repeatedly saying the letter of the alphabet that comes before the letter by which your animal’s name begins.

You may not say anything else.

While doing this, you may do an imitation of the animal.

Task notes

The teams for this task were determined by studio seating order – Pipoca and Gilmario vs Pedro and Eduardo. As she is the only one who cannot win the episode, Gabriela (in the centre seat) is given the option of choosing her team, rather than being assigned to one.
Instead of being given a set amount of time to get through as many animals as possible, the teams take turns of 30 seconds each to convey a single animal, and must move on to the next one in the following round, regardless of whether their animal is correctly identified.
The team member who wrote down animals is forbidden from also being the team member to mime the other team’s animals.
A rule is established – though not followed particularly closely – that the two guessers in the team of three must converse and then submit only a single guess, in an attempt to make things fair.
The Portuguese alphabet is the same as the English alphabet, but the letters K, W, and Y were only added in 2009, and so tend only to appear in loanwords from other languages.
